Privacy Policy
The Pub Hound is a small, independently-run site. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and what your options are — in plain English, not boilerplate.

What we collect
When you use the "Verify This Pub" or "Report An Issue" button on a pub's page, you're taken to a short form (built on Tally, a third-party form provider) asking whether dogs were welcomed, water bowls were out, treats were behind the bar, and so on. That form has an optional "your name or email" field — you never have to fill it in, and most people don't.
We don't run any account or login system, so we don't collect usernames, passwords, or profile data of any kind.
Where your submission goes
Form submissions are processed by Tally, a third-party form platform — see Tally's own privacy policy for how they handle it. If you left a name or email, it stays in Tally's dashboard for our reference only.
The pub-related answers (dogs allowed, water bowls, treats, etc.) get folded into our public pub database (the same file that powers every pub page on this site, hosted in a public GitHub repository). Your name or email is never included in that file — only the dog-friendliness answers themselves, along with the date and a generic "visitor" label. There's no way to trace a public listing entry back to who submitted it.
What we don't do

We don't run any advertising or retargeting pixels.

We don't sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.

This site doesn't set any cookies or run any analytics script today. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first.

No accounts
There's no login or account system, so there's no profile data to store.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like virtually every web host, Vercel's servers briefly retain standard technical logs for requests — things like IP address and browser type — for security and reliability, per Vercel's own privacy policy. We don't access or use these logs ourselves for tracking.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
If you've ever submitted a name or email through our verification form, you have the right to ask what we (or Tally, on our behalf) hold about you, and the right to request it be deleted. Email hello@thepubhound.co.uk and we'll sort it out — there's no form to fill in for this, just tell us what you'd like.
