In practice, if you're visiting outside the May–September window, most of Burnham's beach is open to you. In peak summer, head north past Maddocks Slade towards Berrow and Brean and you won't hit a restriction — and it's a genuinely bigger stretch of sand than the town-centre beach anyway.

Is Burnham-on-Sea pier dog friendly?

The pier itself sits in Beach Area 1, where dogs aren't permitted on the jetty or esplanade steps year-round — so no, you can't walk your dog onto the pier. But you can absolutely walk past it, admire its full 37 metres (it's genuinely worth the "is that it?" moment), and carry on along the Esplanade.
